Before jumping into the full changelog, please find below a short list of Known Issues you may encounter while playing. Most of these are being worked on or already have a fix and will soon be addressed in Patch 1.5.1.
Notable Known Issues
- Ships change name upon province change
- Building lose their shadow and the ocean its waves on the highest zoom level under certain camera angles on/near Cinis
- There’s a rare chance game crashes upon loading multiple saves including the DLC in a row
- A TRAJAN-120913-01 error desync is displayed after transitioning from Part 1 to Part 2 in a CO-OP Campaign
- Some performance issues during the volcanic eruption
- A destroyed pirate’s trading post continues to spawn ships even when their enemies (player, rival, emperor) have ships in the vicinity

Improvements & Changes
General
- Word filter adjusted in singleplayer
- While the filter is still in place (mandatory requirement), there’s no more censoring on client side
- Other participants in a multiplayer match will still see the word cesored if a word another player used is affected by the filter
- Gameplay DLC can now be activated at any point while playing
- When loading a pre-DLC-release savegame, a prompt will appear, but the decision can be postponed to later
- Added a workforce priority system to help with avoiding negative spirals
- The priority now is: Military > adding population > population area effect > income > income area effect
- Defeating a pirate now gives positive emperor reputation
- Amphitheatre events can now be run on multiple islands simultaneously
- Weather effects like rain in Albion or the volcanic ash rain from Prophecies of Ash can be disabled via the options menu
- Destroyed Officia remember slotted specialists
- Added a new type of contracts: escorts
- A ship will spawn that will get attacked on its way to the map border, requiring the player to ensure its survival
Balancing
- Passive Trade rebalance: was too powerful previously and now gets adjusted downwards a bit.
- Rivals/Traders only sell goods they actually have in stock
- Rivals pay the same price as traders now
- Rivals/Traders have less budget for trading starting in mid-game
- Goods have higher trade prices
- Important: the old balancing is still available and remains active in existing savegames. All these options are now part of the game setup and can be tweaked to your preferences.
- “Prophecies of Ash” DLC: during volcano phases, traders will not sell goods impacted by volcano phases (food, crops, fish, animals)
- Water mill gets +1 knowledge, donkey mill –1 health as area effect
- to better represent the water mill being more “expensive” due to requiring a river slot
- Land units take damage from major incidents when very close (illness, fire)
- Added an “easy” difficulty for the impact of increasing city status on city incident attributes
- Drastically increased the maximum prestige and belief thresholds and added additional buff milestones
- Reduced the cost of Voada’s mercenaries and slightly improved their stats
- Increased number and intensity of Voada’s raids, with a stronger focus on land raids
UI & Controls
- Various improvements to the trade route screen
- Assign routes to a group during creation
- Give trade routes a name directly during creation
- Hold shift to copy a good across all vacant slots of a ship
- Trade route lines are now displayed on the map on the right when hovering over a trade route
- The number of buildings producing a good is now displayed in addition to the stock level for each island
- Some more improvements are still in discussion/in development
- When using mouse & keyboard, all pins at bottom of the screen can now be removed/replaced, the resource pins are not fixed anymore
- We’ve added a “Favourite” category when using gamepad
- It allows you to add ships, buildings as favourite for quick-access
- You can add both menu entries and your current selection
- It’s now possible to zoom & pan the mini-map
- Several improvements to the multiplayer loading screen, including:
- Show readiness state of participants
- Added icon to differentiate human and AI players
- Added “waiting for host to start game” label
- You can now order land units to embark onto a nearby ship instead of manually sending them to the ships
- If you play the game in windowed mode, the game now remembers the window size
- Pressing shift while using the upgrade tool on ruins restores ALL ruins (no matter the building type) in range

- Copying building with a skin will now also copy the used skin
- Fixed an issue where the second citizen upgrade path in Albion would not correctly unlock after having reached the highest Tier of the other path

- Fixed an issue where the blueprint of a city watch building would be shown as built when the blueprint of another building was selected

- Fixed an issue with some of Albion’s public service buffs not correctly applying to the respective other citizen path

- Fixed an issue where upgrading dirt roads would destroy the marsh road section connected next to it

- Fixed the asset pools for several items that were previously not affecting production chains as they should
- Fixed the “Many Hands, Alight Work” effect that previously wasn’t functional
- Fixed the issue that resulted in clicking on attributes always leading to the production statistics screen
Units and Ships
- Ships now don’t lose health when repaired while lack of workforce would usually decrease its health
- After being full repaired, ships will start losing health again
- Villa garrison troops are no longer counted towards general army power, as they are purely defensive
- Rivals will still calculate with these troops when considering an invasion, however
- Improved unit cohesion for ships when escorting
- A rival’s garrison units can now be deleted by the player after conquering and razing a rival’s island
- Players can now encamp a unit while “auto combat” is active
- Players can now encamp an army more easily
- Selecting multiple units and encamping them allows players to place the camps down one-by-one
Diplomacy
- Added new infotips for the war infotips with the Emperor in the diplomacy screen
- Pirates no longer revoke their alliance with the player if the player starts a rebellion
- Fixed some non-working relationship reasons related to treaties having been broken in the past
- Fixed an issue that would give the player twice the positive relationship points with some rivals when reaching (pro-)consul
- Fixed an issue that would result in economic relationship reasons disappearing completely after a rival would overtake the player
- Fixed an issue that had the destruction of units not impact the relationship with rivals in war
- Fixed an issue with the negotiation screen displaying an absurdly large number when a reason with a hint was present
- Fixed an issue that resulted in a never-ending state of rebellion even if the rebelling rival had been defeated
- Trading with pirates is now unaffected by the player’s reputation with the Emperor
- Fixed an issue with an endless loop of Emperor reputation messages
- Fixed an issue that would not revoke the player’s consul state after appointing a rival as specialist
- Added additional notifications to inform player of treaties between two rivals if the player joined a rival’s war against another NPC and the ally concluded peace
- Fixed an issue where the camera would focus on the wrong island after taking over an island from a rival
- Fixed an issue where some ornaments from rivals would remain on the island after take-over
UI/UX & Controls
- Various UI improvements to multiple menus
- Adjusted the character limit for ships, land units and player names to 16 to avoid display issues
- [Gamepad] Fixed an issue where the focus didn’t move to the active effects button in the object menu of gates and towers
- Fixed locked category icons in residences being displayed as white instead of light brown
- Fixed an issue where relocation costs were still displayed for harbour buildings even if they were set to “free” in the game options
- Adjusted how area effects are displayed for buildings that offer both positive as well as negative effects to assure they display the correct number of affected buildings
- Adjusted text scaling for city institutions
- Infotips in the shipyard now also display the ship type (penteconter, trireme, quinquereme)
- Fixed an issue where encamped land units wouldn’t have their stats displayed
- Aligned colours used for in-world feedback of land units
- Fixed an issue with the villa’s repair time going into negative if resources for reconstruction are missing
- [Gamepad] Fixed scaling of the radial tools menu which was too low compared to other radial menus
- Aligned selection behaviour of game mode and province selection screen
- Fixed some issues with button behaviour in the game setup screens

- Fixed an issue that had feedback units get stuck in parts of the sanctuary building
- Fixed the broken animation fade for units during a charge attack
- Fixed an issue that resulted in the banners of land units misbehaving after mass-embarking multiple units
- Fixed an issue through which players were able to place ground plates on a rival’s island
- Fixed an issue where military units couldn’t find the gate in ornamental walls
- Fixed how ornamental ground plates interact with other objects like streets
- Fixed an visual issue with mosaic ground plates in first-person mode
- Improved the placement behaviour of walls/hedges to end adjacent to each other
- Improved ornament hit boxes
- Improved order of ornaments in the construction menu
- Fixed an issue that made it more complicated to only delete the gates of ornamental walls

- Fixed a misplaced selection box for ruin rewards on Juliana
- Fixed an issue with flickering menus when delivering both Garum and Drapes at the same time
- Fixed a missing title for the governor decision when collecting the elephant
- Added a missing “Jump To” button for the “Remove ruins of old Ambrosia” objective
- Replaced “failure” boxes with proper icon for the Whitecliff Gaol Cells
- Adjusted the behaviour of some campaign tutorial bubbles
- Gave the Mythical Boar some pig companions to make it more easily findable

- Removed the logo from all objects spawned for the “generic enemy”
- Fixed an issue where the quest speech preview bubble was placed on top of objects
- Adjusted the “Jump to” functionality to prioritize positions in the current province
- Fixed an issue where objects spawning at the border of the playable area resulted in the “Jump To” button not working
- Fixed some issues with the quest validation window
- Fixed an issue where the slider couldn’t be moved manually with the mouse in the Archive tab of the Questbook

- Fixed the empty message box from Voada after completing the “Homecoming” quest
- Replaced a placeholder icon in the “Spurring the Moment” quest for the Assortment of Partygoers quest item
- Added missing items in the “The Fates of Flowing Manes” quest for the “Sail to the island where the wild horses were spotted” objective in the questbook and quest tracker
- Added the missing quest reward in “Meddling with Metal” after selecting the “Mistrust the Celts” path
